Please note: The information below descrbes the current situation for pupils currently in S4. Pupils currently in S3 and considering RMPS as an option in S4 should speak to Ms Baker or Ms Scott-Heaney for further information.

In S4 all pupils undertake an RMPS (Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies) unit titled "Making Moral Decisions".

This unit of work supports pupils in thinking about morality and moral decision making. Pupils consider the nature of morality, learn about a variety of moral theories, and study selected moral issues. Pupils then consider a number of case studies in order to understand how the moral theories that they have studied can be applied to 'real life' issues.

Throughout the unit, pupils are encouraged to think about and develop their understanding of their own beliefs and values by comparing their own perspective to that of others and evaluating those perspectives.

Pupils can expect to have home learning tasks in the form of revision for unit assessments.
